STAR'S FAULT was originally inspired by a much beloved Maine Coon cat, TGC Lunarcoons Northstar of Denalicoons. The Most Beautiful Starry Girl followed me everywhere. In true cat fashion, Star was always in the middle of any project, mostly so to interrupt whatever is going on so that I would pay attention to her. As you can imagine, this resulted in many creative mishaps - therefore, "Star's Fault". Star was a furry, gentle giant, and a fun loving, rowdy girl. Star's very long, blue-silver coat, tilted amber eyes and lion-like face gave her an exotic beauty. She was a dear creature who loved to be brushed and snuggled almost more than kitty treats. She shared her nest with Binx, a humble, elderly tiger kitty, and Bitty, a very fuzzy Norwegian Forest Cat with a serious attitude problem. Star's favorite time of the day was always 4am. Star lost her battle with cancer in February of 2010. I miss this dear, gentle kitty angel more than I can say. Other than my art and kitties, I'm really a pretty boring person, I live a quiet life in scenic Alaska, in a lovely, vintage, craftsman home I share with my dear husband, Mr. Wonderful, a grown son, three, no two, cats, and a beautiful horse. My sweet Tennessee Walker, Pushin' CD's Pride, is the newest addition to the family. "John" arrived in May of 2008 and launched me back into the horse world after a 17 year lapse. Training and riding John each evening is my favorite activity. There is nothing better for the inside of a girl, than the outside of a horse, and time with him restores me like nothing else.
I love to make things, and all spare minutes are directed to the creative process. I knit, crochet and sew for myself and my home, I putter in a woodsy garden, scrap pages of special events and family milestones, take pictures of my art, kitties, home, my travels. I incorporate vintage items into just about everything. I am passionate about crafting mixed media artifacts from fabric, paper, metal and bits of odds and ends. I decorate my nest. I bake when I can from my grandmother's recipe book.
I've been an artist all my life, but my ability to express this gift didn't really take flight until I was all grown up. With the rise of technology, digital cameras, Photoshop, blogging, vintage and mixed media art , I feel like I finally found my voice. I teach art classes when I can.
I hope you'll visit Star's Fault again soon ~ we enjoy hearing your comments and feedback. Email me at: silvergirl@starsfault.com
