This is my first attempt at blue art. Star approves, mostly because mom hummed happily in the art nest for the better part of the day. Its very Spring-like, while the other blues that I will post later are much darker, their subject matter a bit funnier (you'll see) than this old cigar box. I've deorated it with a mix of colored scrap paper and clips from here and there. I always add in bits of black and white scraps, to add a little drama and grab the eye. I had an old file folder that I repurposed for the little box, allowing me to insert various papers between the folds.
I sure hope you like it ~

I love this cigar box. What a great place to store all kinds of wonderfulness for your year. Makes me want to make my own. I liked the folder inside the box idea as well...

I'm here on a visit from A Year of Color. Really enjoying your blog -- especially, right now, the box you created. Quite lovely. I am searching for blues in my house today, in hopes of doing a blue post on my blog. I know what you mean about color phobia!
Anyway, popped in to say hello.
Enjoy Seattle.

Your box is just utterly gorgeous! I saw the pics of it on The Year of Color II Flickr pages and fell in love with it.
